Tiny Tots in Tiaras and Tuxedos

Raised in segregated Arkansas, Kermit B. Hill guarded highly classified World War II secrets at the Pentagon while her husband served overseas. She danced at the legendary Savoy Ballroom and navigated love, marriage, and family—choices that ultimately steered her toward becoming a groundbreaking Black businesswoman and leader. Her daughter, Francene Mary Diane Hill, brings her remarkable story to life through intimate love letters, family photographs, newspaper clippings, and archival records.

In 1951, Kermit founded Tiny Tot Nursery School in her home. What began with a simple idea grew into an institution where six generations of Black children learned, played, and were crowned King and Queen in Royal Coronations, leaving an enduring legacy.
